Papua New Guinea: The Fire Dance

Papua New Guinea: The Fire Dance

0:26:13 2020 TV-PG

When a person dies, or to celebrate a harvest or important visit, the Baining tribesmen create masks representing the Spirit of the Forest. A great fire is then lit in the village, and dancers adorning the masks dance around the fire, jumping on the embers to prove they are stronger than the flames.
